A: The answer to your question is that Google Mail does NOT support email receipt confirmation that you enjoyed in the past with Outlook.  Outlook accomplished this helpful trick by sending secondary (hidden) emails to recipients and forcing recipients to send an email back.  This non-voluntary practice works in theory, but with the vast amounts of spyware/malware/viruses being spread in the same manner, the practice of read receipts and confirmations is being frowned upon if not disabled in many organizations and by many email programs.
